The position of identity in contemporary reality - UNESCO Creative Cities Network, SKCNS Fabrika, Novi Sad (RS)
This artwork combines artificial intelligence, video projection, holograms, and digital
performance to explore the position of identity in contemporary reality. It examines how identity
is shaped and manipulated by social norms, hidden desires, and digital footprints, leading to
alienation from individuality.
The project consists of two parts: a studio-recorded video rooted in human physicality and an
AI-generated segment where avatars of the artist and their collaborator—designed with
personal data—exist in a perfect, eternal digital space. These idealized digital selves highlight
the allure and risks of a utopian virtual existence.
By blending physical and digital realities, the work critiques cultural and technological norms,
calling for a reexamination of freedom and identity in an increasingly mediated world.
The multimedia exhibition is organized by BelArt Kontakt under the patronage of the
City of Novi Sad (UNESCO Creative Cities).
